Sanctuary is a Verb
Sanctuary is a Verb
“We all remember what happened…”
In response to the recent impact of ICE activity across Minneapolis, Juxtaposition Arts apprentices present Sanctuary is a Verb, an exhibition exploring what it means to create safety, belonging, and solidarity in moments of uncertainty.
Through painting, illustration, mixed media, and visual storytelling, apprentice artists reflect on lived experiences, collective memory, and the power of community care. Inspired by the idea that sanctuary is not simply a place, but an action, the exhibition asks viewers to consider how we protect one another, preserve hope, and respond to injustice through creativity.
Join us for the Gallery Reception on Thursday, July 16, from 5–7 PM to meet the artists, experience their work, and celebrate the voices of Minneapolis youth using art as a catalyst for dialogue and change.
Exhibition Dates: June 23–July 23
Gallery Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 AM–4 PM, or by appointment (contactus@juxtaposition.org)
Location: Juxtaposition Arts Gallery
2007 Emerson Ave N, Minneapolis, MN 55411
