Our Visual Art Literacy Training (VALT) program provides a comprehensive hands-on arts education for youth ages 12-21.

A free, comprehensive visual arts introductory training course

VALT provides FREE, rigorous, hands-on arts education for youth and young adults ages 12-21. Taught by practicing artists and educators, this intensive 12-week course introduces students to foundational design concepts and drawing techniques. Successful completion of one VALT session is required in order to be eligible to interview for a paid apprenticeship in our JXTALabs youth employment program.

Mondays – Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.*
