A free, comprehensive visual arts introductory training course
VALT is a free introductory and comprehensive drawing course for 12-21 year olds taught by working artists that focus on developing skills in young artists. To adhere to COVID guidelines and still provide our free program, we are shifting to Virtual VALT via Zoom. Drawing materials will be provided free to students before the start of class. Youth between the ages of 12-21 with all levels of drawing abilities are encouraged to fill out the Virtual VALT application below if they are interested.
In Virtual VALT students learn variety of drawing skills through 3 projects; contour drawings, portraits and comic characters.
Spring Virtual VALT (6 weeks)
March 6th – April 24th (No class/Spring Break on Sat. April 3rd, Tu April 6th, or Th April 8th)
Project 1: Contour Drawing (March 6th – March 18th)
Project 2: Portraits (March 20th – April 1st)
Project 3: Comic Character (April 10th – April 24th)
Class Days:
Saturdays – 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Tuesdays & Thursdays – 4:00 pm – 5:30 pm
Zoom Info Sessions (must attend to participate):
Saturday, February 27th 11:00 am
