Visual Art Literacy Training

Our Visual Art Literacy Training (VALT) program provides a comprehensive hands-on arts education for youth 12—21 years of age.

Our Visual Art Literacy Training (VALT) program provides FREE comprehensive hands-on arts education for youth ages 12—21. Taught by industry professionals, this intensive, college level course introduces students to the basic skills and techniques of drawing and visual art.

VALT enrollment priority is given to Northside youth and youth enrolled in Minneapolis Public Schools, and is required in order to interview for a paid apprenticeship in one of JXTA’s art and design labs.
