Visual Art Literacy Training

Our Visual Art Literacy Training (VALT) program provides a comprehensive hands-on arts education for youth 12—21 years of age.

VALT is a FREE program taught by industry professionals. Classes are made up of youth participants with priority given to young people who live, go to school, or are otherwise connected to North Minneapolis. VALT is a required introductory program that youth must complete in order to be eligible to be hired for a paid apprentice position in a JXTALab or Studio.

FALL SESSION: September 12th – December 7th

Tuesdays, Thursdays | 4:30-7:30pm | Saturdays 10am-1pm

WINTER SESSION: January 7 – March 29th

Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays | 4:30-7:30pm

INTENSIVE: June 18th – June 28th (for STEP-UP youth)

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday | 9am-2pm

SUMMER SESSION: July 2nd  August 23rd

Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays | 10am-1pm
