Harmonee Harrison is the Communications Associate, Residency Artist, and Lead Teacher in the Free Wall program at Juxtaposition Arts. She began her journey at JXTA in 2016 as a student in the Free Wall and Visual Arts Literacy Training (VALT) programs and has grown into a multidisciplinary artist working across environmental design, aerosol, graphic design, and contemporary storytelling. In her role, Harmonee supports JXTA’s communications, branding, and marketing that focuses on maintaining the authenticity, culture, and identity JXTA has been rooted in since its beginning, while strengthening how the organization shows up publicly and connects with the community.

Harmonee’s career and mindset have been shaped by JXTA’s hands-on arts education model, mentorship from teaching artists, and lived experience within her community, where creativity has long been used to replenish, organize, uplift, and imagine new futures. Her training and practice inform how she works with youth and adults. Prioritizing access, representation, and self-definition over traditional or narrow ideas of success. She chose to continue working at JXTA because it allows her to explore creative paths that are not limited by conventional career expectations.

Outside of work, Harmonee stays active in community art spaces through roller skating, attending and supporting local art events, curating art in her home, teaching artist residencies in schools, and taking on local mural commissions. She also spends time building her presence as a social media influencer, using digital platforms to promote her work, her community, and other artists. Teammates often describe her JXTA superpower as her flexibility, creative energy, and passion—bringing a strong work ethic and genuine fire to support, uplift, and platform those around her through expression.
