Together, we’re building a space for the next generation of artists, thinkers, and doers to thrive. Your contribution matters.
Enlist JXTA for your next project to support Twin Cities’ youth art apprentices and industry professionals while gaining quality art, design, and community perspectives.
Our comprehensive art programs train young artists for life after school by offering training and volunteer opportunities that open the door to paid apprenticeships.
Support our Work
As of now, all programs are canceled, but apprentices will be paid for their regularly scheduled hours.
JXTA is prepared to supplement safe and sick time for our youth apprentices, artists, and team during these closures. JXTA currently employs 45 youth apprentices who are paid $11.75-$12.75/hour (note: we are in the process of increasing youth wages to keep pace with the City of Minneapolis’s $15/hour minimum wage policy). Since most of our production work requires being on campus, we will see a reduction in client revenue until we are back up to full staff. Please help us raise $12,000 for two weeks of youth wages while we help our young people stay home and healthy. Your support at this time helps us ensure continual income for our staff and youth and young adult apprentices, many of whom are also helping to support their families. Thank you!
Attend events on the JXTA campus and around town that support artists through exhibitions, gallery openings, dialogues, and fundraisers.
Taught by practicing artists and educators, this intensive 12-week course introduces students ages 12-21 to foundational design concepts and drawing techniques. Successful completion of one VALT session is required to interview for JXTA paid apprenticeships at age 14.
Free Wall is a FREE introductory 3-week summer camp in which students learn the history and techniques of aerosol writing with local masters of the medium.
Available for young artists who have completed the Visual Arts Literacy Training (VALT) program, JXTALabs offer advanced training in six artistic areas of study as well as real paid client projects.

We’ve launched the largest initiative in our history: a $14 million capital campaign to build a state-of-the-art facility at our current location.
