In 2019, JXTA was hired by the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board to engage Northsiders in the planning of a future park at the Upper Harbor Terminal site and to create a master plan for the public art in the park. Our work in this process has been to provide an accurate picture of what Northsiders want for this future park and identify the important storylines and ideas for future public art in the park. We have engaged hundreds of Northside community members through conversation at community events, kayaking and biking trips, listening sessions, interviews, and tours of the riverfront site.
